Summary

Details

It is time to think about summer vacation and a week or two at camp at Lone Pine Point on Cranberry Lake located in the northwest of the Adirondack Park.  Most of the shore line of Cranberry Lake is owned by the citizens of New York as State Forest or State Park.  We have had tenants use the camp as a base for wilderness camping, but most enjoy boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, exploring the sights, reading, or just goofing off on the dock.  We consider it a big plus in that there is no TV, no telephone, and limited cell-phone access. On the other hand, we have internet access; we'll give you the password for our wireless router, or you can use the town's library which provides free Wi-Fi and public workstations.

The hamlet of Cranberry Lake and its immediate vicinity have a diner; small grocery, gift shop, gas station, laundromat, and liquor store.  With prior arrangement a water-taxi is available.  The "blip" on the map marks the approximate location of our camp.

The Saturday to Saturday weekly rental is $775. For your money you get a rustic cabin that easily sleeps six (6).  There is a small bedroom with a double bed, and a large bedroom with two sets of bunk-beds.  The kitchen area at one end of the great room is equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, utensils, and pots and pans.  The other end of the great room is set up as a living room, but contains a futon-couch that can serve as a double bed.  The bathroom includes a shower (no tub).  There is a large covered porch.  While not meeting all ADA handicap accessible standards, there are several provisions for the mobility impaired.  These include a ramp to the parking area, wide doors, and an accessible kitchen sink.

You supply bed, bath, and kitchen linens; paper-products; food; drink; and an attitude for relaxing.  Sorry, no pets.

The camp (Cedar) is available June through September subject to prior reservation.  The cabin is listed on ADK By Owner, which hosts the calendar showing weeks that have been reserved.
